A Quality, Comprehensive Eye Health Exam with Social Distancing
We are committed to delivering the highest level of patient care. Our Tele-Optometry exams are comprehensive and convenient.
Your optometry exam will be performed with a socially distant optometrist.
We use the latest eye exam technology that allows the optometrist to conduct your examination with oral and visual communication via live video conference from a remote location.
What to expect?
• You will see and speak with a licensed optometrist just as if they were here in the office, but the optometrist joins you via high-definition video conference.
• This is a comprehensive eye exam; can early detect many diseases; not solely a correction of your vision. Exam performed in less than 30 minutes. An on-site staff member will be with you during your complete exam.
• The remote optometrist will review your medical history, eye health, evaluate exam tests, correct your vision by remote operation of equipment and answer questions.
• Within minutes after conclusion of your exam, the optometrist will issue to you an accurate vision prescription.
- The first step is to record your basic information
as well as your ocular and medical health history.
That information is stored on a secure server for the
optometrist’s review
- The remote technician will communicate with you
through high-definition video conferencing and record
any eye complaints for the optometrist to review as
part of the optometrist’s eye exam.
- Then an on-site office technician will bring you to the
pretesting area where information about your current
prescription will be recorded along with corneal
measurements, the results of an eye pressure test and
images and videos of your eyes, as well as additional
testing if necessary. The results of these tests are stored
in a secure server for your optometrist’s review
- All your information will be sent to the optometrist and
the office technician will notify your optometrist that
you are ready for your eye exam. Your optometrist will
appear on the screen ready to communicate with you
in real time, answer your questions and learn of any of
your vision concerns.
- Next the office technician will escort you to the optical
exam room. Your office technician will notify a remote
technician that you are ready for a preliminary eye
refraction. The remote technician will appear on the
large video monitor.
- Your optometrist will have remote control of the
phoropter to refine preliminary prescription data; will
access all your ocular health information and finalize
your eye prescription. At conclusion of your exam the
optometrist will advise you of the early detection of
health issues, if any, and deliver an accurate vision
prescription to you.
